Fire Rated A2 Aluminium Composite Panels
Mineral-filled core, non-combustible skins — for facades where the fire officer has the final say.
FEITENG DIPPER series A2 ACP is built from two 0.50 mm sheets of 3003 or 5000 series aluminium alloy bonded to a mineral-filled, fire-retardant polymer core. It reaches the highest reaction-to-fire classification available to a composite panel: Class A2, s1, d0 to EN 13501-1, and it passes NFPA 285 in the United States.
Why A2 and not B1
A standard polyethylene-core ACP burns. A B1/FR core slows that down. An A2 core does not sustain combustion at all. Most European and Middle Eastern high-rise facade regulations now require A2 above a defined building height, and insurers increasingly ask for it regardless of what local code permits.
| Core | EN 13501-1 | Behaviour in fire | Where it is accepted |
|---|---|---|---|
| A2 (mineral-filled) | A2, s1, d0 | Does not sustain combustion; no flaming droplets; minimal smoke | High-rise facades, hospitals, airports, tunnels, schools |
| B1 / FR (fire-retardant) | B-s1, d0 | Limited contribution to fire; self-extinguishing | Low and mid-rise cladding, interior walls, shopfronts |
| Standard PE | E or F | Combustible — not for regulated facades | Signage, interior display, short-term applications |
If your project is above the height threshold in its local code, or if the specifier has written "non-combustible" into the tender, A2 is the only grade that will pass review. We issue the test report with the quote so your fire consultant can check it before you order.

Reports are issued per production batch and carry the batch number, so the certificate you receive matches the panels on the truck.

Typical applications
Questions buyers ask
Is the A2 certificate issued for the panel or the core?
For the assembled panel. A core-only certificate is not valid on site, because the skins, adhesive and coating affect the result. We supply the panel-level report.
Can A2 panels be curved or routed?
Yes — A2 core can be routed and folded like a standard panel. Tight radii should be checked against the fabrication drawing before production, as mineral core is less forgiving than polyethylene.
Is the A2 range stocked in the Netherlands?
Selected A2 colours and thicknesses are held in the EU warehouse. Confirm current stock with your enquiry — we will tell you whether the Netherlands or China is faster for your specification.
